The 2016–17 season was Coventry City's 133rd season in their existence and fifth consecutive in League One. Along with competing in League One, the club participated in three cup competitions, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy, which the club went on to win. The season covered the period between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017. The season saw The Sky Blues suffer relegation to League Two after finishing 23rd in the table.
