  • Attacks (A) is the number of blows the creature can strike in a single round of combat. The more blows a creature can strike, the more deadly it will be. Most characters and most creatures have only 1 A, but some have more and there is no maximum amount. A are never used as a basis for a test. They simply indicate how many attacks a character can make in a round of combat.
  • When a hunter swings or fires a weapon at a target, this is called an attack. There are three different types of attacks available to hunters.
  • Attacks are moves that Pokémon use in Gym battles to defeat their opponent. Each Pokémon has two attacks, one Fast Attack and one Special Attack. Fast Attacks are the moves used when a trainer taps on their Pokémon in a Gym. Repeated fast attacks charges up the special attacks. In addition to attacking, Pokémon can use Dodges by swiping either left or right on the screen. A Pokémon is preparing to attack when the edges of the screen flash yellow. A message stating "Dodged!" will appear if the dodge is a success.
  • When creating an Original Character you have the ability to define new and unique attacks that suit his or her style and personality. The three main parts of an attack are LEVEL, TYPE and CLASS. * LEVEL is the relative power of the attack ranging from 1 to 10. Most of the character's attacks should fall between 1 and 6. Attacks at level 7 and above have considerable power and are typically saved for a character's 'special' attacks. The guidelines for attack levels are listed at 'NEWS LEVELS' * TYPE determines what stat is used when calculating the damage delt by the

  • There are several different kinds of melee attacks that borgs can perform. If you try to perform an attack that a borg does not have, you will do another attack instead. Here are the types of attacks you can perform by pressing B: It is extremely important to know which melee attacks to use in each situation. For example, Vampire Knight's ground dash melee sends him into the air and leaves him vulnerable, while his standing melee is considerably safer. Barrier Girl's neutral air melee is weak and not very accurate, while her air dash melee is more accurate and knocks borgs down easily.

Special Attacks must be charged, which can be done by using Fast Attacks. The Special Attack meter can be found under the Pokémon's HP bar in the upper left hand corner. Each segment of the bar represents a use of the special attack. Once a segment has been filled, the trainer can use the attack by holding down on the screen. In addition to attacking, Pokémon can use Dodges by swiping either left or right on the screen. A Pokémon is preparing to attack when the edges of the screen flash yellow. A message stating "Dodged!" will appear if the dodge is a success. Individual Values can help determine how strong a Pokémon is in battle compared to another of the same species. Use the Pokémon IV Calculator to help you determine its chance of having "perfect" IVs.
  • There are several different kinds of melee attacks that borgs can perform. If you try to perform an attack that a borg does not have, you will do another attack instead. Here are the types of attacks you can perform by pressing B: * Standing melee: Press B while standing or running. * Ground dash melee: Press B during a ground dash. * Air dash melee: Press B during or right after an air dash. * Flying melee: Press B while flying with a borg that can fly by pressing X. * Stabbing melee: Press B while you are in the air and directly above an enemy. * Jumping melee: Press B right after performing a ground attack and then jumping. * Neutral air melee: Press B while in the air in a situation other than the four described above. * Landing melee: Press B right after landing. The vast majority of borgs have different standing melees and ground dash melees. Most have different air dash melees and neutral air melees. Stabbing melees are rare; examples of borgs that have them are Normal Ninja and Ruby Knight. Jumping melees are also rare, and are mostly (perhaps entirely) restricted to borgs with boost jumps. Examples of borgs with jumping melees are G Red and Cyber Mars. Landing melees and flying melees are fairly common. It is extremely important to know which melee attacks to use in each situation. For example, Vampire Knight's ground dash melee sends him into the air and leaves him vulnerable, while his standing melee is considerably safer. Barrier Girl's neutral air melee is weak and not very accurate, while her air dash melee is more accurate and knocks borgs down easily.

Attacks at level 7 and above have considerable power and are typically saved for a character's 'special' attacks. The guidelines for attack levels are listed at 'NEWS LEVELS' * TYPE determines what stat is used when calculating the damage delt by the attack. MELEE attacks are based on Strength. RANGED attacks are based on Firepower. There are also two special types that can be either melee or ranged: STUN and AREA. STUN attacks incapacitate their target for one turn. AREA attacks are able to hit multiple targets with one shot. * CLASS affects the damage caused by the attack, based on your target's weaknesses or resistances. For a complete list of the different classes see 'NEWS CLASSES' Ranged attacks come with the special built-in ability to vary their power levels. Typically when applying for ranged attacks, you only need to include the highest power level per weapon. That way, instead of needing Mini-Laser (2), Laser (4) and Laser-Rifle (6), you only need Laser-Rifle (6) which can be fired on low, medium or high. You can also specify that a ranged attack is FIXED, such as a Rocket or Grenade, so it will only come with one attack level. The last special property that can be set on an attack is the stat it damages. Almost all attacks cause damage to the Endurance stat, but special weapons like glue guns or flash-bombs can be set to damage Agility or Dexterity instead. As a final note, you don't have to create all your own attacks when you create a new character. There are a number of 'Basic' attacks that are already defined to pick from. You can see the list at 'NEWS BASIC ATTACKS'
