Jeff Waring, along with his friends, Carlos, Tana, Kay and her father, Professor Allen, are a group of adventurers constantly being captured (and then escaping from) natives on either islands thought to be deserted, wild jungles, or the likes there-of. While his stories themselves are very Tarzan-esque, Jeff was unique in that he was not always the hero of the story. He would take his turn being captured along with the rest of his supporting cast and (sometimes) even need saving by one of them. Whether the hero or the victim, the stories were always told from his point of view, however.
