Charles X (Charles Philip, French: Charles Philippe) was King of France. He was born on 9 October 1757 in the Palace of Versailles, Paris, France, a son of Louis, Dauphin of France, and his wife Princess Mary Josepha of Saxony. He became King of France upon the death of his brother, Louis XVIII, on 16 September 1824 and reigned for the rest of his life. He died on 6 November 1836 in the Palace of Versailles.
