Protection of the Theotokos Monastery is a monastic community for men under the omophorion of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, presently Metropolitan Jonah of Washington and New York. It is located in the rural mountains of Weaverville in western North Carolina. The community was founded in 1982 in Miami, Florida, and was received into the Orthodox Church in America in October 2003. Currently, the community has two hieromonks (including the abbot), one hierodeacon, two monks and one novice in residence.
