Siege Hydregs were developed by the Hydreg conservatives during the Hydreg Civil War, but after being defeated in combat, the conservatives abandoned the project. The Siege Hydregs wandered all over Duskplains until they were found by some other Hydregs. They started working as village guards and doing other heavy duties for food and became a common sight all over Duskplains. Their numbers has increased significantly in recent years and there are even reports of them...mating with common Hydregs.

Some of them were kidnapped recruited by the liberal Hydreg government to serve the army, in case of another war. There are even rumors of biomechanical Siege Hydregs in development, which will have a cannon and several guns attached to them.
