This is the 1945-46 season of the Western Canada Senior Hockey League: It was the league's first season. It was organized in September. The intention was to form a strong enough league to challenge the Quebec Senior Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey Association for the Allan Cup. Lethbridge and Moose Jaw were also invited to join the league, but they declined. Part of the reason for their declining was not to detract from their strong junior teams.
