The Pole Position Trophy is an accolade awarded to the driver who scores the most pole positions in a season. In the event that multiple drivers are tied at the end of the season, a countback system applies whereby drivers are next ranked by second placed qualifying, then third, and so on. The Pole Position Trophy was implemented in 2014, with an aim to improve the spectacle of qualifying. The inaugural Pole Position Trophy was won by Nico Rosberg, who sealed the trophy at the 2014 Brazilian Grand Prix.
