The microbe armor, sometimes known as Barabel microbe armor, was a sleeveless armor developed by Creshaldyne Industries. The suit had inflated pouches containing microbes that consumed radiation. These beings fed on blaster bolts, and in fact bred when receiving an impact—increasing the protection of the vest. However, microbe armor was vulnerable to extreme cold. The use of this armor was not widespread among soldiers as it was useless against any other weapon. The item was offered to Galladinium Preferred Customers through Galladinium's Datalog.

- Microbe Armor is a unique creation of the Barabel species. In appearance, the armor appears to look like a light vest with inflated pouches. These pouches are actually made up of saline solution which are themselves supported by microscopic organisms. These creatures are created to consume and thrive on radiation. The microscopic creatures essentially "eat" the energy created by blaster bolts. The armor is also vulnerable to extreme cold since freezing temperatures kill the microbes.

When the armor is hit, it stimulates the growth of the micro-organisms and makes the armor more effective over time. This, in essence, creates a living ablative armor. Surprisingly, the use of this armor is not thought to be widespread outside of Barab I, but the reason may be due to the fact that it is useless against anything but energy weapons. The armor is also vulnerable to extreme cold since freezing temperatures kill the microbes.
