A Combat pure is a character whose combat stats are specifically trained in order to optimise performance in player-versus-player scenarios (Wilderness, Duel Arena, etc.), often prioritising offensive stats whilst maintaining a low combat level. For instance, someone with 70 Attack and 70 Strength and only 1 Defence would be considered a pure (more specifically, a Whip pure). Though the concept of a pure most commonly refers to an account with high offence and low Defence, there are other types of pures, including "Berserker" pures, "Barrows" pures, and even Defence pures. Still, considering the diversity of PvP-oriented accounts, there are almost countless variations—some accounts are primed to work specifically with particular weapons.

  • A combat pure is an account which is created primarily for the purpose of efficient (usually PvP) combat. Combat pures train specific combat skills, while deliberately keeping other combat skills at a minimum in order to excel in certain aspects of combat at a comparatively low combat level. The term "pure" standing alone most commonly refers to this kind of combat pure. These accounts fall into four main categories, depending on the variation of skill levels: Pures, PKers, Tanks, and Products.

abstract
  • A combat pure is an account which is created primarily for the purpose of efficient (usually PvP) combat. Combat pures train specific combat skills, while deliberately keeping other combat skills at a minimum in order to excel in certain aspects of combat at a comparatively low combat level. The term "pure" standing alone most commonly refers to this kind of combat pure. These accounts fall into four main categories, depending on the variation of skill levels: Pures, PKers, Tanks, and Products. * Pures limit both their offensive (usually keeping Attack on a certain level) and defensive capabilities in order to maximise damage at a lower level. * PKers choose to increase some levels in Defence in order to acquire offensive boosts (e.g. getting 45 defence for the Berserker helm, getting 42 defence for Void Knight equipment or getting 40 defence for the Lunar spellbook for Vengeance) * Tanks reduce their offensive capabilities to further their defence (for example, staying Ranged/Magic based to have higher defence against meleers) * Products choose to use methods such as Soul Wars, Pest Control, Dwarf Cannons, Ranging Guild to increase their stats while keeping their Constitution level low. This allows a much higher damage output, however far more vulnerability to players who use special attacks at the start of a fight. These accounts are similar to Wined Pures, a type of pure in RuneScape Classic. The term "product" is sometimes used as a pejorative.
