In 1997, she originated a role of Mother in the first US (pre-Broadway) Los Angeles production of the musical Ragtime at Shubert Theater and received her second Ovation Award (Best Lead Actress In a Musical) for this performance. Gaven played guest roles in TV series The Bold and the Beautiful, Beverly Hills, 90210, Frasier, Babylon 5, The Drew Carey Show and Ellen. Since June 1996 she has been married to the film editor Seth Gaven (creative director of movie marketing company A.V. Squad) with whom she has two children.
