The bayonet twist lock is a type of fixturing system that got its name from that mechanism that attaches a bayonet to a rifle. This mechanism is now used in high end cameras, electrical connectors, kitchen gadgets, and other quick connect applications. It utilizes an extrusion in a cylindrical part that fits into a groove in another cylindrical part, so that when inserted and rotated, the two parts are indefinitely joined.
