Structural Corrections (over AE Mk1) : * More Robust structure (correcting deficiencies in original concrete track design) * Major repairs/replacement of track worn out by City Construction Improvements : * Additional Capacity - passenger and freight * Greater Speeds * Less Maintenance (cheaper, less failures) Diagrams : Rebuilding and realignments - City expansion added newly important destinations and adjusted routes (tunneled thru some ridges instead of going over/around). Passenger service was discontinued after the bankruptcy. TheMetro Transit Trolleys and Bathyspheres had taken much of the business which had been subsidized by the Freight operations (much like what happened in the US in that same period). The AE System afterwards continued as a Freight operation (the profitable part of the system) . . .
