The Seattle Fault is Seattle's only major fault that runs through the city. It passes under the Industrial District and then through Elliott Bay. This is a risk also to the surrounding districts like Pioneer Square and Downtown. It has not caused a recent earthquake, but poses one of the largest seismic threats to Seattle along with the larger and more dangerous Cascadia Subduction Zone.
