  • Storm ("Sr.") Kalaus won Miel was the highest-ranked Stormlych of the Glorious Army of the 2nd Rainish Magickal Glory. The Stormlyches (Reyshi/Gaulstater: Stormenlychen), given the title Storm were an elite class of warwyzards during the 1st Great War. Stormlyches had to be: 1. of the Queen's Race, 2. mentally competent, 3. physically fit, 4. pragmatic, and aggressive, 5. single, and without any family or loved ones, 6. below the age of twenty-five, and 7. have a Magickal-Measurement (ReyshI: Magiegenmeze) of at least 840/1000. They were for these reasons a small (numbering less than a 1,000 men), but incredibly effective military force. Kalaus often wore a Fergestenhut, a so-called Farwestern Hat, modeled after the sangahalki worn by the Great Emperors of the Far West, where the Sanic race is said to have originated from. Fergestenhuten were often attached to gas-masks to combat the effects of Schriegendef ("Screaming/Shrieking Death," a poison gas which destroys the lungs). His jacket was somewhere between a WW1 trench coat, and a wizard's robe. It's frayed to allow for short bursts of lightning levitation, and actual psychic levitation (by another party). Its three buttons were the colors of Reynlenn, the most-important city of the 2nd Rainish Magickal Glory. Black represents Aye the Queen, who brought the Sanic race to Parthalenn, white represents Vayess of the Walls, a heroine who brought the House of Doralth to power in Reynlenn, and purple represents the 1st Rainish Magickal Glory, the Far West, the Storm of Storms, and magicks in general. His belt had two knife sheaths, as Stormlyches were expected to be able to fight in regular combat as well as magickal combat. The upside-down skull on his belt was a symbol associated with the City of Miel, and its famous Archduke (An Archduke is to a duke as a goodlord is to a lord) Johansen won Hungerfort (also Kalaus' great-great uncle), whose death at the hands of the "vicious, barbaric, and animalistic" "Jawley" "tribes" was the catalyst of the whole pro-Sanic, anti-everybody-else sentiment which sparked the 1st Great War, and the Iksasfear, wherein millions of foreigners, and "Redmen" (i.e. mixed Jauli/Anasic, "Jawley/Sanic") were killed en masse in Death Camps. The letter double S, "ß" in Rainish Runes, was on his purple armband. It represented the 2nd Rainish Magickal Glory, as well as the Storm of Storms (the letter looks like three lightning bolts), a gigantic storm which nearly destroyed Reynlenn with continent-shattering lightning bolts 400 years prior to the 1st Great War. It essentially created the nation-state of the Reyshi Kingdom, Reyshi/Gaulstater: Gauland, "Wall Land." Finally, inside of his armband was his Defengand, "Deathly Wand," which he called Won Meinen Raze! (figuratively "For my Race!"). Unlike most wands, it was actually useful for something. It served as a crowbar, as a lockpick, as a mini shovel, knife, as a toothpick, as hairclippers, as nail clippers, and as a stick of doom (the Lobott nicknamed it the Doomstick) which spewed lightning, and that could cause dragonstirs. Normally, lightning magicks are completely unattainable to humans, and only attainable to Divine-Destroyers. However, the cause of the Storm of Storms, Landeles the God-From-the-Lightning, a former slave, had left behind thousands of chains which became imbued with his power. They were used to create the Defenganden. The legacy of the Stormlyches is not a good one. They are remembered as monsters, as affronts to the Gods, whose powers were more than any human ever ought have. Kalaus himself died in battle, and was even given an honorary knighthood by his opponents, who respected him. That is until the horrors of the Iksasfear, and Kalaus' compliance with it were revealed. Kalaus was posthumously stripped of all his titles, and the 2nd Rainish Magickal Glory dissolved less than a year after his death. Kalaus' grave was vandalized sometime during the occupation by Sayerthenn, and no one knows where his corpse is. It is at the bottom of the Anasic Great-Sea.
