  • Jokubas Atwater (pronounced joe-KOO-bahs) was the old man running Urda's House during the blue pox epidemic in 1036 KF. He had a daughter, who also seemed to know something about healing and who joined Briar, Rosethorn and Henna on their floor in Urda's House to help care for the sick there on late afternoon of the 8th day of Sap Moon. Rosethorn, who was never content with the supplies sent to her into quarantine, regularly quarreled with Jokubas, but he couldn't do more than tell her that he didn't have the money for better supplies and she would have to do with what she got. Briar didn't think highly of him, either, using descriptions like "mean", "bitter" or "acidly" for him. He only appeared in Briar's Book.
