  • Mutations are permanent effects that raise/lower your stats and other attributes. These are not to be confused with Ether Disease or the Mutant class. Unlike Ether Disease, Mutations are purely positive or purely negative, and can be stacked to provide higher bonuses or penalties. Mutations cannot be cured with a potion of cure corruption. They can, however, be removed with potions of cure mutation, which will remove mutations at random, both positive and negative. Your character's mutations can be viewed on the Feats screen. When you obtain a mutation, a message will appear in the messages window. Positive mutations will always have a green message, negative mutations will be in red.
  • A mutation is a change in the usual DNA sequence at a particular gene locus. Mutations (including polymorphisms) can be harmful, beneficial, or neutral in their effect on cell function.
  • Mutation is a short story by Zombiejiger.
  • Mutation is a gameplay mechanic in the Persona 2 duology. It differs from Evolution in that the Persona does not necessarily change forms, rather the Persona gains power or a new skill, although it is also possible for a Mutation to allow the Persona to evolve.
  • Eine Mutation beschreibt eine Physische Äusserliche veränderung an einem Lebewesen.
  • "Mutation" is the first campaign level in World of War: Global Warfare. The player has to escape from a military laboratory after creating a horde of undead from a machine.

  • .hack//MUTATION (.hack//悪性変異 Vol.2) (Japanese title: Malignant Mutation) is the second of the four-part video game series that is the core of the .hack franchise. It continues immediately after Infection and follows the heroes Kite and BlackRose as they become even more involved with what is hidden within The World. Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
  • More than the threat of armies of black-armoured warriors tumbling out of the Chaos Wastes, or the nefarious threat of dark Cultists decaying the moral fibres of Imperial life, it is the threat of mutation that terrifies Old Worlders. It is the most personal of the threats that the Ruinous Powers pose, the erosion of the self into the seething foulness of Chaos. One can never tell who hides some strange corruption of the flesh beneath a baggy shirt or under filthy breeches. A neighbour could conceal some bizarre abomination in their cellar, and everyone listens for the horrible shrieks of a new mother spawning a twisted beast. The threat of physical contamination is ever-present, and all Old Worlders keep a watchful eye for the telltale signs of corruption.
  • A spell that cannot be "learned" by the player but is used by various enemies. Some treasure cards allow you to convert the base card to a mutated card (for example: Fire Elf (base card) to Ice Elf (mutated card)).
  • After Phlox explained to Jonathan Archer that a dead Suliban which he had autopsied was atypical of his species, Archer asked if he was a mutant. Phlox concurred, but clarified that his modifications were not the result of accident but of genetic engineering. (ENT: "Broken Bow") While observing Klingons in the 23rd century that lacked ridges on their foreheads, Dr. Julian Bashir asked Worf if they suffered from a genetic mutation. (DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations") It was a mutation in Odo's body that led to him developing Section 31's morphogenic virus. (DS9: "The Dogs of War")
  • Some reasons for mutation were similar to that of evolution — the adaption to a situation, area, or time; however it was a forced and "unnatural" change, outside of what of would have occurred during "normal" evolution. Other mutations were caused by accident or by deliberate design of another individual or species.
  • A mutation is a genetic anomaly in a creature's genome. Mutations are divided into two main classes: * point mutations, which only affect one factor of a gene - for example, how much glucose is needed to make a unit of glycogen * duplications and omissions, which cause the insertion and deletion of whole sections of genetic code - for example, a chemical reaction, a brain lobe or an organ Other mutations such as translocation are not modelled with games in the Creatures series.
  • Mutation is a term used in genetics to indicate the modification of a human being. Contrary to the Transmogrification or the Shapeshifting, it is not had to the Magic or a power originally. But by the science. It is undergone and irreversible. Vampires, Werewolves, certain demons like Skilosh Demon and Wraith-er Demon or the rite of the Ascension have the capacity to infect and/or to convert by bite their victims. In this case, it is similar to the demonic Possession and not a mutation. Human psychics, seers and telepaths like Drusilla, Cassie Newton, Agnes Bellfleur...are not mutants. Their abilities, although that has no magic origin, are mystic. However, because of the new magical rules, a third type of mutants appeared in Magic Town, under Nadira's leadership. In the Buffyverse, there
(TNG: )
  • A mutation is a random, permanent change in DNA. If a mutation is a germline mutation it can be heritable. Mutation allows for variation from individual to individual within a species and therefore provides the raw material upon which natural selection acts. There are an estimated 1.6 to 4.2 mutations per sperm cell in humans. The average human zygote has about 64 mutations. Heritable mutations are usually the result of vertical genetic transfer, which occurs when genes are copied during reproduction.
