All the 500 seats are voted directly by the voting-age population. As Hani is a federal state, there are about five senators per governorate. However, the number of congressmen a governorate may have depends on its population (three seats per million people). Both houses of the Diet vote in secret ballots and follow the majority-rule voting system.

  • It is a bicameral body; divided into two houses; with the upper house being called the Senate while the lower house being called the National Congress. The Han National Diet has been consecutively dominated by the ruling Grand National Party, with the left-leaning Han Worker's Party and the Unitary Party (which seeks to establish an unitary state) being the two largest opposition parties. This historical domination has led Hani to be described as a one-party dominant state.
