Gabriel Medwick was a Confederate soldier during the Second Great War. He was a squadmate and friend of Jorge Rodriguez, and so shared the constant retreat the company was forced to endure. Outside of Buckingham, Virginia, Medwick was wounded. Rodriguez had to leave him behind, but surrendered to U.S. troops just outside of nearby Appomattox. Rodriguez begged that his captors to retrieve the injured Medwick, and was assured that they would. Rodriguez never knew for sure, however.
