When the case came to trial the following month, Cilla had rehearsed Chesney well in what to say and when they arrived at Weatherfield Magistrates Court, the boy was delighted to be told by the Usher that he would be giving his evidence by video link, prompting his mother to comment that he would be just like a film star.
