  • Spencer Thomas Bachus, III is the United States Representative from the Sixth District of Alabama. The Alabama Republican was first elected to Congress in 1992. A graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama Law School, Bacchus is married to Linda Bacchus, has five children and attends a "megachurch" in Hoover, Alabama Hunter Street Baptist Church. That is where the votes are! The Sixth District lies in the middle of the state and includes Ribb County and parts of Childton, Coosa, St. Clair, Jefferson, Shelby, and Tuscalosa counties. The principal towsn in the district are Alabaster, Clanton, Gardendale, Homewood, Hoover, Hueytown, Leeds, Mountain Brook, Pelham, Pell City, Pleasant Grove, and Tussville.
