USS Georgiana III (SP-83) was an armed yacht that served in the United States Navy as a patrol vessel from 1917 to 1918. Georgiana III was an iron-hulled civilian yacht built in 1916 by the Harlan and Hollingsworth Corporation at Wilmington, Delaware. On 3 May 1917, the U.S. Navy acquired her from her owner, Edward T. Stotesbury of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for World War I service as a patrol boat. The Navy took control of her on 11 May 1917 and commissioned her the same day as USS Georgiana III (SP-83) with Lieutenant J. H. R. Cromwell, USNRF, in command.

Georgiana III was an iron-hulled civilian yacht built in 1916 by the Harlan and Hollingsworth Corporation at Wilmington, Delaware. On 3 May 1917, the U.S. Navy acquired her from her owner, Edward T. Stotesbury of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for World War I service as a patrol boat. The Navy took control of her on 11 May 1917 and commissioned her the same day as USS Georgiana III (SP-83) with Lieutenant J. H. R. Cromwell, USNRF, in command. Assigned to the 4th Naval District, Georgiana III steamed to Wilmington 26 May 1917 for conversion to a patrol boat for the section patrol by Harlan and Hollingsworth. On 25 July 1917 she reported for harbor entrance patrol duty at Cape May, New Jersey, and during World War I she patrolled the entrance to Delaware Bay, cruising between Cold Spring Harbor, New Jersey, and Lewes, Delaware. Fitted with underwater listening gear in July 1918, she also escorted ships through the Defensive Sea Area of Delaware Bay. Georgiana III was decommissioned at Essington, Pennsylvania, on 30 November 1918 and returned to her owner.
