  • The Sheriff of Nottingham is the secondary antagonist from Disney's 1973 feature film Robin Hood.

  • The Sheriff of Nottingham is the tertiary antagonist in the crossover movie The Grand Adventure. He is an evil wolf who steals money from people. The Sheriff is also a minion to Prince John. He reappeared in The Grand Adventure: The Sequel as a supporting villain. The Sheriff joined up with Gaston to capture Sharp Ears the Vixen.
  • Kid Icarus and Kevin ran into the Sheriff of Nottingham while he and Prince John were shaking down a shopkeeper. The sheriff and his posse attacked them while the prince fled, but they fought him off with some help from Robin Hood. The sheriff later caught Maid Marian eavesdropping on him as he plotted with Prince John and came up with a way to incorporate her into their plot. After the archery tournament, he tried to force Robin Hood and his friends to surrender by threatening to keep Maid Marian locked in the tower forever, but her leap of faith and Kid Icarus' quick and accurate shooting foiled his plans.

  • Sheriff of Nottingham is a Hero available in the Scenario Editor of Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings based on the main villain in the English legend of Robin Hood whose job is to capture him as well as other outlaws. This is to ensure the safety of trade routes through Sherwood Forest and to prohibit them from poaching the King's Deer. In the game, Sheriff of Nottingham is represented by a Long Swordsman but with better stats. Like other infantry units, Sheriff of Nottingham is affected by all upgrades that affect infantry as well as any civilization bonuses that affect them. As with all heroes, Sheriff of Nottingham can self regenerate and cannot be converted.
  • The Sheriff was hired during a 4-year long drought in the Beeston area of Nottingham in the latter stages of the century. Though the hiring was originally intended to aid irrigation in the affected area, he got his big break in the first month. In early days, he had aspirations of being a steward for his beloved Nottingham Forest, although the closest he ever managed was being a programme-seller. The Sheriff is renowned throughout The People's Republic of the East Midlands for driving out the plague of locusts that damaged Nottingham's newly planted crop of illegal firearms, beans, and hydroponically-cultivated cannabis. The locusts were later found gnawing away at some passing sunlight.
  • As Bugs pulled a carrot from "Ye Royal Carrot Patch", the alarm went off. A few seconds later, Bugs is caught by the Sheriff of Nottingham and is about to be put to the rack when Little John (depicted as a fat goonish fellow) appears and introduces Robin Hood. However, Robin Hood does not appear. Bugs and the Sheriff continue to converse, and Bugs averts the latter's attention by lying about the king's arrival. Bugs clubs the Sheriff while the latter is bowing and runs off.
  • The Sheriff of Nottingham is an important figure in the legend of Robin Hood. The holder of the office of Nottingham's Sheriff, it is his task to capture outlaws such as Robin Hood, either to ensure the safety of trade routes through Sherwood Forest, or to keep them from poaching the King's deer. In some stories, the Sheriff of Nottingham is portrayed as having a lecherous desire for Robin Hood's lady, Maid Marian. He is widely considered to be the principal villain of the Robin Hood stories, appearing frequently alongside such enemies of Robin Hood as Sir Guy of Gisborne or Prince John (though rarely both).

  • The Sheriff of Nottingham is a large humanoid wolf who is the tertiary antagonist in The Grand Adventure. He (along with Meowrice) worked for the evil Prince John. The Sheriff was sent by The Prince to tax the town of Nottingham and capture Goofy and his son - so he can destroy their home. But with Goofy and Max gone out on their adventure - The Sheriff later joined up with Meowrice to take Mewsette to The Prince. But after Mewsette escaped from Nottingham - Meowrice and The Sheriff got arrested. It is unknown the villains were hanged for treason or not.
  • The Sheriff of Nottingham is the main antagonist from the Robin Hood stories. He is an Everafter who is trapped in Ferryport Landing, and is shown to still maintain a hatred of Robin Hood. When the Queen of Hearts is elected as the town's mayor, he becomes the sheriff of Ferryport Landing, though he shows little regard for the rules and constantly twists them to his own advantage. He is a member of the Scarlet Hand and appears to be one of the more influential members of the group. He takes pleasure in opposing the Grimms.
