Canadian Forces Base Borden is a military facility located west of Barrie, Ontario, near the community of Angus. Borden was created in 1916 as Borden Military Camp and was home of Canada's first military airfield. Borden is also home to the Canadian Forces Fire and CBRN Academy, training centre for military firefighters. The airfield remains and is base for 400 Tactical Helicopter and Training Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The unit flies the CH-146 Griffon helicopter.
