Wessen Paganism is also a major religious establishment in the former Wessen colony, Newfoundland. Wessen Paganism is a polytheistic religion, based around the worship of deities known as the ese (singular os). In the past, there has been a belief in supernatural creatures inhabiting the region, including Dragons, Wyverns, Elves and Nicor, however in modern Wessen Paganism these are thought of more as a novelty. The belief system involves fate, or Wyrd. Pagans believe that everyone has their destiny mapped out for them by the ese, which includes inanimate objects. Pagan Worship usually takes place outside, in sacred areas, which may be Hills, Fields, Forests or bodies of water, however many people may keep a small shrine in their garden or in their home for worship if sacred places are inaccessable.
