If we're going to use a name, it ought to be a real one. Shinra News isn't. Drake Clawfang 22:55, 27 April 2009 (UTC) I quite like the Bonga Bugle, actually. It's the only FF-related newspaper that I know of. Actually, Shinra News is real. Mail in Crisis Core, and there's a TV report flashback shown in Advent Children. I actually uploaded the logo: File:Shinra News Logo.png. --BlueHighwind ツ 23:02, 27 April 2009 (UTC) People can't appreciate good aliteration it seems. Anyway, I don't understand why no one likes Bonga Bugle. I personally can't stand Shin-Ra News, it just sounds so bland and unoriginal. Diablocon 10:38, 28 April 2009 (UTC) Bonga Bugle never sounded like the name of a newspaper to me. My vote's for Timber Maniacs, magazine or whatever. Oh, to nitpick Yuan, who said

  • I like Timber Maniacs. It has more "journalism" feel on it somehow... =D
  • I'm delighted by both news items, but with the following considerations and caveats: VII Remake *As long as they do nothing to the game except updating the graphics and so forth. That means no storyline changes, no Compilation retcons, not a single line of dialogue altered except for typos. Although I would accept new sidequests, a la FFVI Advance. *I know it's way too much to hope for, but can they call her Aeris? Please? *Also, I still want to see a 3D remake of VI at some point, you know... XIII-2 *After completing XIII, I did think that a sequel could work... *...as long as it's not another trainwreck like X-2. Not that I don't like X-2, but it's a poor sequel to X and a poor example of the FF brand. *Keep the same battle engine, please. Again, something else X-2 did wrong. *...and as many of the same party members as possible, too . *Although I have to query how magic will work without l'Cie. Manadrives, I guess...
  • Final Fantasy Wiki:Shinra News/News Box. Edit it there. And put new comments on the bottom of the page.
  • But Shinra News isn't a newspaper either. I prefer the name "Bonga Bugle".
  • That's because they are equal. Right?
  • For once, I actually agree with ILHI. Timber Maniacs, plz.
  • I've made two stories on the actual Shinra News page but don't know how to get the links to appear in the box on the front page. Noobish? yep, but that's me. Can anyone tell me how?
  • I'm thinking of changing the title, since honestly I never liked this one. I seem to be the de facto leader around here, but even so, I'm not going to do anything if people object. Unlike some, I can't afford to be tyrannical. The names I've considered since they've been suggested are "Timber Maniacs" and "Shinra News". I'm not much of a fan of "Timber Maniacs" NOT because of my usual hatred of FFVIII, I actually rather like the name, but only because that's a magazine and not a newspaper. Since people seem to rarely answer here, I'll give this three days. If nobody answers, I'll just do what I think best.
  • Hey look, AJ! I'm making the discussion needlessly longer! And this has nothing to do with the discussion!
  • Thanks for that, and letting me know about comments :)
  • Considering both items are only speculatory and not officially announced except for them considering it, I don't see the point of this. And frankly, expecting them NOT to retcon the game to fit the altered canon of the Compilation is just outright stupid.
  • That was only one time, and only because I always write that way, unless its supposed to be "professional". At that moment in time, nobody told me otherwise, so I didn't see the harm. Since then, of course, all of my writings have been completely unbiased
  • I can have the banner name changed in five minutes, and can move everything in an hour. But I will need Admin help to change the sidebar. That's it.
  • The feeds aren't useful. If we were to have a feed of our news page, we'd want to hide things that aren't directly related to a new news story, but we can't do that. Like I'm looking now, and half of the feed is downright useless. I don't particularly have a strong opinion on comments, although the forums do already exist for spouting opinions on current events.

Diablocon 10:38, 28 April 2009 (UTC) Bonga Bugle never sounded like the name of a newspaper to me. My vote's for Timber Maniacs, magazine or whatever. Oh, to nitpick Yuan, who said the FFWiki had to have a newspaper? Maybe we have a news magazine. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 10:44, 28 April 2009 (UTC) To nitpick back, I mentioned it because Blue rejected "Timber Maniacs" because it wasn't a newspaper in the first post. — YuanSaluto!Acta 11:18, 28 April 2009 (UTC) Well, Shinra News is sorta an online Newspaper, like us. We're not a real newspaper either, though we like to pretend to be. --BlueHighwind ツ 12:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC) I do support Shin-Ra News! At least you will have one FFVII-named page within your project pages >:3 AJDurai 13:20, 28 April 2009 (UTC) Timber Maniacs. It being a magazine is BS, because 'guess what', this page isn't a newspaper. It's nothing like a newspaper, more like an email system, closest things seen is CCVII's mail. But Timber Maniacs is better. 15:25, 28 April 2009 (UTC) ^ Oh look, a troll out of the bridge >:3 AJDurai 00:52, 6 May 2009 (UTC) You're looking for a troll? Try a self-proclaimed one. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 00:59, 6 May 2009 (UTC) I like Bonga Bugle or Timber Maniacs. Shin-Ra News sounds bland. 8bit 22:52, 6 May 2009 (UTC) Besides, Final Fantasy VII is overused. Timber Maniacs is a magazine, and everyone magazines show reports, not news. I also think that 8bit should be the new admin in-charge of this, because Faethin seems to care little about this. - Henryacores^ 23:06, 6 May 2009 (UTC) Final Fantasy VII can only be consider overused on this wiki by somebody who does not pay attention at all. We don't have a single project page with a FFVII-related title, despite there being no less then 5 games, 1 movie, 2 books, half a dozen Ultimanias, and 2 OVAs related to it. While, as AJ-Baby pointed out, FFVI has several, and so does FFXII. If we move this to "Timber Maniacs", FFVIII will have two. I must also bring up Crystal Chronicles, which despite being the largest sub-series (if that's a word) has nothing. If we're going to say we treat everything equal, then each universe should only get a single project page with the ideal being that eventually we recognize all of them. --BlueHighwind ツ 00:03, 7 May 2009 (UTC) ....Or we refrain from being overly fastidious about pairing exactly one Wiki function with one FF game. I love IX but I don't care that it doesn't have a project page named after it. Also, I'm not sure what adminship of the Bonga Bugle would entail, seeing as how the most complicated issue seems to be naming it ^^ BlueH does a good job of keeping an eye on this as it is, but I'll be happy to change the sidebar or take any necessary admin tasks or authorities that are desired. 8bit 00:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC) Yes, it is a dull post, but any properly run project page should be. But right now, I intend to make things a whole lot more entertaining. =D --BlueHighwind ツ 01:00, 7 May 2009 (UTC) What are you talking about? Unless something has slipped past me, VII, VIII and IX had none. 16:59, 7 May 2009 (UTC) FFVIII has the Dollet Hotel. --BlueHighwind ツ 19:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC) Oh yeah, I forgot about the forums. *Votes to change back to Bonga Bugle* 19:24, 7 May 2009 (UTC) *Seconds vote* 04:56, 9 May 2009 (UTC) Bye-Bye, Bonga Bugle... <:'( (Seriously, I'm more into FFTA2 than what ever Shinra belongs, FF7?)
