California Couture R-201; ©1968; Designer Helen Rose - All Occasion Dress - "Every woman needs a fluid little dress that's right for a dozen occasions. Not an innocuous one, but one that makes her feel it was designed especially for her and makes her stand apart as a fashion individualist. This is the beauty of couture design. It has that extra something that sets it apart and looks as if it came from the most expensive gown shop. This pattern is just such a dress. Long or short raglan sleeves show the trend to softness for spring and a scoop neckline takes all sorts of added attractions. Little pleats on the skirt lend a dirndl influence and the back is side-closed with four buttons. Breeze-weight wool jersey was used in this photo but Miss Rose advises silk or a handsome print so it can go on through late spring and summer." Helen Rose was a Hollywood Designer, two time winner of the Academy Award for Costume Design and designed Grace Kelly's Wedding Gown.
