The people believe that anyone can become a hermit, an absolute being. Thus they strive to improve their souls to that end. Many inhabitants have become hermits, absolute beings. But, it`s common knowledge that there are evildoers among them who performed harmful acts even after becoming divine beings. Because of these malicious few, many horrible events began to take place. Neighboring nations near Kunlun were faced with a terrible predicament. NOTE: Some versions of Ragnarok Online refer to this place as Gonryun, which is the Korean word for Kunlun.

A cadeia tem quase 200 picos com mais de 6000 metros. Os três maiores picos são o Kongur Tagh (7,719m), o Dingbei (7,625m) e o famoso Mutzagata (7,546m). Esses picos maiores estão na cadeia de Arkatag dentro do complexo de cadeias. Uma parte sul das montanhas de Kunlun formou os geisers entre os maiores rios da Chinae, o rio Yangtze e o Huang He. A cadeia de montanhas se forma na fronteira norte com a Placa da Índia durante sua colisão, no fim do período Triássico, com a placa da Eurásia, que resultou no fechamento do oceano Paleo-Tethys.
