Paul Dawkins (5th December 1918 - 26th June 1979) played George Pickup on Coronation Street in September and October 1963. His other credits include a starring role as Ernest Parbold in the first season of the Street spin-off Pardon the Expression, The Avengers, Dad's Army and The Onedin Line.
