Under Peron, Rivadavia became known for the Rivadavian Gauchos, successors to the Gauchos of the 1800s. Despite this, Peron tried to industrialize Rivadavia, installing facilities to accommodate ISOT-equipped ships. Nevertheless, the economy of Rivadavia was mainly exporting agricultural products to Sanjurjo and Wessel.
