Not that long ago people would've claimed that no skating franchise could outbeat the Tony Hawk series, until Skate was released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 a while back. EA has just announced a second entry into the series, which will be released on the Nintendo DS and Wii exclusively called Skate It. According to executive producer Scott Blackwood, the "It" in the title refers to literally everything that the player can skate on, whether it be rails, ledges, or what have you.

The game will, according to the aforementioned producer, utilize the Wii's remote and the DS' touch screen, whereas last year's installment focused exclusively on the dual analog controls of the 360 and PS3, something that neither of Nintendo's consoles have. Surprisingly, the Wii version of the game will also support the Wii Balance Board that will ship with the already hit title Wii Fit in a couple weeks (in America, of course - it's already been released in Europe and Japan!).
