Shadow Poison is a variation of Sith Poison that was developed by Master Alchemist Uvon Okdoro of the Cult of Shadow. Much like Sith poison, shadow poison is designed to have a corrupting influence on a subject and seems to act more like a virus than an ordinary poison, however unlike the other poison, shadow poison forces the subject to succumb to the Dark Side on their own without any influence.

  • Shadow Poison is a variation of Sith Poison that was developed by Master Alchemist Uvon Okdoro of the Cult of Shadow. Much like Sith poison, shadow poison is designed to have a corrupting influence on a subject and seems to act more like a virus than an ordinary poison, however unlike the other poison, shadow poison forces the subject to succumb to the Dark Side on their own without any influence. The poison selectively blocks how a subject is able to access the Force. Only the means used to call upon the Dark Side of the Force are allowed. This effectively cuts off a person's connection unless they give in to the Dark Side’s temptation. If they never do give in, they are still removed from their powers and thus no longer a problem to the cult. When injected into the bloodstream, shadow poison infects the cells of a person and then perfectly mimics its surroundings as it spreads throughout the body. Even the most invasive medical scans have trouble locating it, let alone indentifying it as anything but a natural bodily fluid. Likewise, healers using the Force also have difficulty indentifying it as the poison doesn’t actually damage the body. After a period of about twenty-four standard hours (on a humanoid of average height and weight) the poison is sufficiently integrated into the body to make it nearly impossible to remove without also killing the subject. Currently there is no known antidote or method to cure someone who has been fully integrated with the poison, however if it is caught before that period of time, it can be combated by healers and either removed or slowed down. Shadow poison is very difficult and time consuming to create, which makes it very rare and therefore used sparingly against the cult’s enemies. It is generally saved for those they want to convert, but have shown resistance to other means of coercion. Notable targets have included Kalja Sairu Leidias and Ashin Varanin. A way of accelerating the body's integration of the poison was developed by master poisoner Siriss Cortann, who mixed Shadow Poison with Aktharan, Molthiadol and Senflax. This reduced the integration time to between six and ten hours, depending on body mass.
