Lylek Van Harek was a Twi'lek Jedi Knight and the former Padawan of the elderly Jedi Master O'choa Pyne. She and her family were the descendants of prisoners who had been imprisoned on the prison planet of Ord Vaxal and had subsequently lived there following the mass uprising from the prisoners. Van Harek lived on Ord Vaxal until she was seventeen, following the death of her mother at the hands of a ravenous trigha, her father sold her into slavery, where she was eventually purchased by a Hutt. Van Harek resided within the Hutt's palace on Kintan until she escaped and stole his ship, a YX-1980 space transport. Eventually, she was detected by the New Jedi Order and allowed to join.
