Llanelli and Bristol Rovers have met three times in competitive matches, all in the FA Cup and all in the 1950-51 season. That season saw Rovers achieve their joint best ever run in the cup, reaching the quarter-finals, and Llanelli (at the time spelled Llanelly) provided the first round opposition. Although a non-league team, the Reds proved to be tough opponents, taking Rovers to a second replay at Cardiff City's Ninian Park after 1-1 draws at Eastville and Stebonheath Park. That Llanelli team included future Scotland manager Jock Stein.
