  • The Bei-Korr Confederacy was an anti–republic organization that formed shortly after the New Republic's discovery of the Bei-Korr system. Exploration ships that belonged to the New Republic were immediately captured during their orbit around Bei-Korr Prime. After the Eurek was captured, the Confederacy officially declared war upon the Republic. The Bei-Korr Confederacy justified their deceleration of war by claiming the Republic was intruding on Bei-Korr space and that they did not wish to be "conquered" by the New Republic. However, the war was generally fought through espionage, corruption and diplomatic sanctions. Towards the height of the conflict, the Bei-Korr Confederacy had spies planted on many Republic worlds throughout the Outer Rim and Mid Rim area. The first official battle in the war took place on a small uninhabited planet in the Bei-Korr system known as Dremva Dorus. The battle at Dremva Dorus was a swift victory for the Republic. The Bei-Korr Confederacy lost a majority of their shipyard during the battle. During the raid on the Bei-Korr base of operations on Dremva Dorus, Republic soldiers made a discomforting discovery: the Bei-Korr had swayed a Dark Jedi to aid them. Keamus Rae commanded a small group of elite soldiers but never himself engaged the enemy. During the last hours of the battle, Keamus escaped Dremva Dorus and fled to Tatooine, breaking his allegiance with the Confederacy. Throughout the last years of the war, the Confederacy still felt the blow stricken at Dremva Dorus. The majority of the fleet was destroyed during the battle, leaving them defenseless. The Confederacy tried to rebuild by enacting programs to rebuild the Confederate navy, but no success came of their attempts. During 19 ABY, the Confederacy had been heavily damaged, with only a few remnants existing. By 20 ABY, the Confederacy had officially disbanded and Bei-Korr Prime was added as a New Republic territory after its defeat. Despite the Confederacy being disbanded, many of its agents still kept in hiding on various Republic planets, waiting for a new warlord to rise. During the final years before the Second Galactic Wars, the Confederacy was revived under the leadership of Warlord-Emperor Ghan-Jorr Ramus and transformed in 40 ABY to the Bei-Korr Empire. Due to the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances' attention being mainly on the insurgency that had emerged, the Bei-Korr Empire was able to easily push Federation ships out of Bei-Korr space and even expand into the neighboring system. The Bei-Korr Empire waged war against the Federation with the help of the Imperial remnant and other systems seeking to break away from the Federation.
