Nomination accepted on IRCOptional candidate Q&A Here are some general adminship questions. They are optional, but seriously? Just answer them. 1. * Why do you want to become an administrator? Because it means that I can get the testosterone implants and medical plan offered by my local hospital for Darthipedia Admins. Or to help people. You decide. 1. * In your opinion, what is the role of an administrator? To help out users who're new, to assist other administrators in the general behind the scenes running of the Wiki, and to assist the users in such a way that they don't feel as if you're superior; Admins just have a few extra buttons. Oh God, how I hate myself for lines from Jimbo... 1. * In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political

Oh God, how I hate myself for lines from Jimbo... 1. * In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political position? I think there's a bit of both; technical running of the site is important, but making sure to vote is something all Admins should do. Then again, all users should, too, for fear of planetary destruction, so I guess we're all political. 1. * How do you feel admins should use their power/stand in comparison with other users? Administrators should use their power to crush the weak. Grind their bones into a paste. Apply said paste to the teeth. Lick said paste until it's sticky. And then spit it out. @Dealing with disputes is an important part; although this applies to trusted users, administrators are a figure of authority, whether they say I R POWERFUL or not. Acting as a mediator and assisting users when asked is important. 1. * Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? I once talked to a man named El Geeko. It left me distraught. I couldn't face another day. His very personality made me want to explode. So, what I did, was I took a spade and beat myself about the head until amnesia ensued and I never remembered, ever again. Oh, wait... Dammit. No, I've never had any conflicts with editing. If I were to face one, I'd contact the person in question and kick his ass discuss it nicely with him. 1. * Of your articles or contributions to Darthipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why? K'Kruhk's hat. Because the hat is freakin' awesome. 1. * What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? I'll step up wherever I'm needed. 1. * How important is it for you to be involved in things such as AoE, FS, and other community-centered items that involve discussion and voting? I don't think that's solely an Admin matter; I think that all users should be involved with that. As it is, I try and vote on all such matters. I'll continue to do so as an Admin, if elected. 1. * Do you think admins performing actions (i.e. deletions, blocks, etc.) for reasons not covered on policy should be sanctioned/punished? If so, how? I don't think they should be treated any different from any other user. 1. * What is your policy, if any, of welcoming new users? Should you welcome a new user, do you look at his/her contributions beforehand? What about anonymous IPs? Some of the funniest shit on this Wiki is from IPs. Some of the shittiest shit on this Wiki is from IPs. I don't pre-judge; I'll see what the content is first. And if Wikia's spambot would stay the hell away, yes, I would welcome a new users. And checking the RC means I don't have to check his contribs to have seen them already. ;) 1. * How would you react if someone undeleted an article you'd mistakenly speedied? Under what circumstances would you consider it appropriate to undelete an article mistakenly speedied by another administrator, if any, and how would you approach this task? If someone undeleted the article, I'd talk to them about it, find out why, and discuss my POV in relation to theirs with them. Sort things out. If an article had been wrongly deleted, or was an issue of contention, I'd consider it good to undelete until further discussion could be reached. I would approach this task by discussing it with other Administrators first. 1. * How would you react if your user page was vandalized? Under what circumstances would you block the offender? Is there anything else that you would do in this situation? I'd smack the bastard round the head with a muddy spade. Apart from which, my userpage isn't any more important than anyone else's here. I'd treat it like a general vandalism issue. If it was considered vandalism worthy of a block, I'd block. If I wasn't sure, seeing as my judgement could be compromised as it's my userpage, I'd discuss it with another admin. 1. * Under what circumstances would you consider blocking an established user? Established users still have to abide by the rules. No differently. 1. * If you could change any one thing about Darthipedia, what would it be? The fact that we're still on Wikia. (Full support to the secret Jack initiative ;) ) 1. * Do you feel the current blocking policy is too restrictive, not restrictive enough, or OK as it is? I don't see a problem with it. 1. * Have you ever considered becoming a regular visitor to the Darthipedia IRC chat? I already am. 1. * How do you feel about people who already have some influence on other Star Wars communities (Wookieepedia, SWFanon) trying to change policies here? Anyone can try and change policy. But if you're just going to cause trouble/dick around/spam, the admins should deal with it. 1. * Who is the most awesome Sith of all time? (Note: The only correct answer is Steve Perry.) Steve Perry. 1. * What's more important to you: consensus or policy? Hard to say; I value both. 1. * Have you had any previous leadership experience (in your community, on the web, etc.)? Admin on various Wikis, various other sites, etc. etc.
