The Gihf family began in slavery, as far back as recorded, with four elders. They were Sito's Mother, Sito's Father, Dawn's Father and Samira Voadah. The two mothers were both married to unknown men and gave birth to Sito Gihf and Dawn Gihf. Therefore, the two children grew up in slavery. As some predicted, the two came to be engaged and Dawn later gave birth to a Force sensitive baby boy named Lance Gihf. Shortly thereafter, Lance was taken to be trained at the Jedi Temple.

Sixteen years later, Lance met and fathered a child with a Human Jedi named Gaul Jiek. When Lance returned home to his parents in 19 BBY, Gaul was killed by Darth Vader during Operation: Knightfall along with their baby, Dean Gihf.
