Cordelia Cadwallader (1765-1872) was born in Brooklyn, New York to Muggle parents. At the age of 11, she entered the first class at Kaaterskill Academy of Magic, where she excelled at charms. In 1789, she returned to the school as Professor of Charms. When Kaaterskill adopted the house system in the fall of 1802, Cadwallader founded Harrison House, which she headed until she became headmistress in 1828. She retired from the school in 1855.
