Loopy was a Québécois wolf (voice of Daws Butler) who sought to improve the name and repute of wolves. Despite prejudice and mistrust, even by other wolves, Loopy persevered in what he saw as his mission in life. On occasion, his son Bon-Bon appeared as sidekick in Loopy's adventures. Loopy's only TV appearance was a cameo in an episode of Yo Yogi!. (Riviére du Loup is an actual river and community in the Canadian province of Québec, in the Haut St.-Laurent region. The American state of Nebraska has a Loup River and a community called Loup City.)

- Loopy de Loop is a French-Canadian Wolf...a Triple-Whammy for many! He's sometimes known as a clone of Pepe le Pew.
- Loopy De Loop appears in the episode "Juror In Court", he escapes from the prison along with many Harvey's clients, when his cases are sent to the review. It is unknown why he runs away, because he never appeared in the show before and was not a client of Harvey. Loopy also appears in a recap of the previous episode in "The Death of Harvey".
- Loopy De Loop was the only theatrical cartoon short series produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera after leaving MGM and opening their new studio, Hanna-Barbera Productions. The series, distributed to theatres by Columbia Pictures, ran from November 5, 1959 to June 17, 1965.
