As of 2296, Avrak held the rank of Commander, and commanded the Warbird IRW Adamant. That year, he was part of a covert plot using a Vulcan dissident, Sered, to force Starfleet off of the unaligned world of Obsidian. The Adamant was held off, though, by the USS Intrepid II under Commander Nyota Uhura. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Forge) By 2344, Avrak had become a member of the Romulan Senate.
