Breyer's parents are The Hon. Joanna Freda Breyer (née Hare), a psychologist and member of the British aristocracy, and Stephen Breyer, a former law professor and federal judge, as well as a current member of the supreme court. Breyer’s great grandfather Sam Breyer served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. His grandfather Irving served as the lawyer for the SF Unified for 41 years and his grandmother Ann was a devoted volunteer for the San Francisco Democratic Party and for the League of Women Voters. His uncle Charles R. Breyer is a federal Judge in San Francisco and his aunt Sydney Goldstein is the Founding Executive Director of City Arts & Lecture. Breyer is a graduate of Stanford and Stanford Business School. He is currently running for Assembly in California's 19th State Assembly District.
