I began teaching at Independence in 2000, after having taught at Cortez HS for five years. I was the last teacher hired by former IHS principal Wendy Blair. As a Special Education teacher I have also coached our Special Olympics Team. Additionally, I coached the IHS Spiritline for two years, and was the director for Pridetown (Independence’s former Unitown Program). I am currently serving my second term as President of the Glendale Union Education Association. I feel very fortunate to work at Independence with such an outstanding faculty and wonderful students.
