The Informatics Government Committee (IKB) was established by the Hungarian government in the early summer of 2000 as part of the Prime Minister's Office with the aim of working out and implementing information policy guidelines. In the summer of 2002 the government set up the Ministry of Informatics and Communications (IHM) as the legal successor of the Informatics Government Committee.
