The Invaders are an unknown group that invaded the Continent and took control of Sounis and Attolia, spreading its influence and worship of the New Gods. The first book reveals that the Invaders invaded Eddis looking for Hamiathes's Gift, but after failing to find it, left and, according to the Magus of Sounis, "took over Attolia and Sounis, more easily administered nations." It is apparent that the Hephestia Mountains helped in Eddis's defense, it continues to believe in the Old Gods.
