Philip Henry Taylor (18 September 1917 - 1 December 2012) was English professional footballer and manager. He played for Liverpool from 1936 to 1954 and managed the club from 1956 to 1959. He played as a wing half, making a total of 343 appearances and scoring 32 goals.

  • Phil Taylor (born 13th August 1960 in Stoke-on-Trent) is a professional darts player. At one point, he was named the World Champion darts player, a title which he lost to John Part in January 2003. He appeared on Coronation Street in February 2009 as darts player Disco Dave. Phil is currently a regular contributor to the "Darts World" magazine.
  • Phil Taylor (full name Philip Henry Taylor) was an inside forward and wing half who started out as an apprentice at Bristol Rovers, and later earning a professional contract with the club. He initially played in the old inside forward position, before being converted into his more successful position of wing half – a role that would later bring him three caps for the England national team. Up until his death in December 2012, he was the the oldest known living Rovers player, being born in 1917 in the Greenbank area of Bristol. He was 95 years old when he died.
  • He won PDC Player of the year four times (2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010) and has been twice nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award (2006 and 2010). He was the first person to hit two nine darters in one match, in the 2010 Premier League Darts final against James Wade. As of 26 September 2010, he has hit nine televised nine dart finishes, and is ranked World No. 1 in the PDC Order of Merit.
