James William "Jim" Ross (January 3, 1952) is a professional wrestling commentator, referee, restaurateur, occasional wrestler, currently signed to WWE, where he works as a commentator and worled as a talent relations consultant. Ross was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest announcers in wrestling history. He is known affectionately by wrestling fans as "Good Ol' JR".   • He played junior hockey in Toronto with the De La Salle Academy Oaklands in 1944-45 and 1945-46. The next season Ross went back to Britain with the Perth Panthers. Ross played senior hockey until 1951 when he got his chance with the Rangers. He played 51 games in 1951-52 and 11 games the next season. He then was sent to the Saskatoon Quakers of the Western Hockey League. Ross played there until his retirement in 1955. Ross coached the Quakers for part of the 1955-56 season.
