The Oubliette is the final area in Metroid Prime Hunters. It is found in the Infinity Void, and the only way to get there is to bring all eight Octoliths to the cannon room in Alinos to fire the Alimbic Cannon. It is home to the final boss of the game, Gorea, and is destroyed in both endings. The second ending includes a short scene in which it appears that the six rival hunters escape Oubliette in their ships along with Samus Aran. There is also a multiplayer level with the same name.

- Oubliette is a track in the BIOHAZARD SOUND CHRONICLE II. It is found on Disk 6.
- In the film Labyrinth, Sarah finds herself trapped in an oubliette after telling the Helping Hands to drop her down (they asked her which way she wanted to go, she chose down). Hoggle helps her out, as he has access to a door that can be attached to the oubliette. This door can either lead an individual out of the oubliette, or into a broom closet.

- The Oubliette is a dark pit, a dungeon with no doors, and one of the locations featured in the 1986 fantasy movie Labyrinth. Its name is based on the French word for "to forget", because people left in the pit were supposed to be forgotten. The only obvious way in or out of an oubliette is through a hole in the ceiling, which is also the only source of light for any of its occupants.
