abstract
  • Kevin Reiter (born November 4, 1981 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently without a team due to injury. He last played for the Newcastle Vipers of the Elite Ice Hockey League on a months contract. Reiter spent four seasons with the University of Alaska Anchorage before turning pro in 2004, sigining with the Missouri River Otters in a two-year spell. In 2004-2005, Reiter and teammate Jason Tapp set a new UHL record for the most shutouts in one season. He then moved on to the Central Hockey League with the Laredo Bucks and the ECHL with the Phoenix RoadRunners. In 2007, he signed for the Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League, serving as the back-up to Nick Boucher. The Komets went on to win the IHL Turner Cup that season. In 2008, Reiter moved to the United Kingdom and signed with the Basingstoke Bison for the 08/09 season. In July 2009, Reiter moved to league champions Sheffield Steelers to replace their out going goalie Jody Lehman. However due to a groin injury Reiter was released by the Sheffield Steelers and went on to play for the Newcastle Vipers. However after starting net minder Michel Robinson recovered from his injury Reiter's contract was not extended due to a recurrence of his original injury and is currently without a team.
