abstract
| - The LFT-2 Light Floating Tank was a light hovertank used by the Imperial Army of the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire, and by the House of Dezendyan Security Force, the private army of the House of Dezendyan. The LFT-2 entered service with the Imperial Army in 1,046 ABY. The LFT-2 was based on the IFT-T, whilst the similar earlier LFT-1 Light Floating Tank was based on the IFT-X. The LFT-2 was faster than the LFT-1. The LFT-2 entered service and supplanted the LFT-1, which was, by the time the LFT-2 came into service, twenty-two years old and was getting a bit outdated in the Imperial Army. When the LFT-2 came in, the LFT-1 was classed as obsolete as the LFT-2 was 20 mph faster and more maneuverable than the LFT-1. The LFT-2 also had a shield generator and two built-in missile launchers. Despite the LFT-1 being made obsolete by the LFT-2, it was not until around twenty years after the LFT-2 was introduced that the LFT-1 finally disappeared from Imperial Army frontline service, being relegated to training and rear-guard duties. It was a further twenty-nine years after this when the last LFT-1s were withdrawn from army service. The LFT-1 had served the Imperial Army for seventy-one years.
