A Blood Apricot is a magic consumable introduced in the Bazaar of the Bizarre: Dine on the Wild Side article by Peter Schaefer in Dragon #429. The Apricot is flavoured as a fruit that is typically cultivated in the orchards of Baator. The Apricot trees are originally grown from the ground of natural worlds where mass atrocities have taken place and much blood has been spilled, and then transplanted by devils of Baator. The Apricots themselves taste similar to actual apricots, but with a hint of an iron taste. [Dr429:26]

[Dr429:26] As a healing item, it requires 2 healing surges to regain hit points equal to the surge value + 2d8, or one healing surge to regain 2d8 hit points. The latter result is less effective on average than a Potion of Healing, while the former result allows an effective double-surge healing (at least near heroic tier levels). It begins to become less efficient for characters with more than 36 hit points, while still remaining potent.
